The toaster, in its first appearance (3/12 1986)
Calvin is seen using a toaster in many strips. He mainly eats his toast with Hobbes, and the toaster sometimes burns his toast, which makes this a running gag. In one strip, Calvin shows Hobbes the toaster asking him if he wanted to see something "weird."
