The newspaper featured editorialized versions of events in Calvin's home. For example, when Calvin's mother was cutting fish for dinner, Calvin's story read: "Knife wielding mother hacks ichthyoid! Grim melee is evening ritual! Suburban family devours victim!" [2]
The newspaper also had a comic strip, titled "Dopey Dad." It was added because Calvin's father refused to give Calvin $15 to cover labor and production costs, and was based entirely on what happened afterward. [3]
