Dodgeball is a sport played in gym class at Calvin's Elementary School.
During one game, Calvin, as his Spaceman Spiff alter ego, was flying his spaceship through Planet ZK-5's rocky rings. In the real world, the rings were the balls thrown by his classmates. When a ball thrown by Moe hit Calvin, Spiff's spaceship was hit by a lump of rock and began plummeting towards the planet.
